past away 2 03:56
There is a place deep inside me, I don't show but there's a girl who used to go there I wanted her I'm walkin' down this beach.. the sky is gray these empty doorways hang open with no rooms to show these (new) shoes are useless, with no place to go, oh i wanted her put the wrath away boy, try to put the past away boy, before it's too late, boy Put the past away Even my ability to feel my emotion's been dissipated through a plastic screen gotta get out man, i need a new scene! (finger picking) I used to want to change the world Now I just would be happy to have a home a place to hide, a place to go i wanted her end: g-sus, g (repeating)

i might lose control once in awhile but at least i remember to smile and i suffer from no denial your criticism seems so small it seems like you don't know what matters at all you don't know why I employ these methods of mine when a dream is a bird in a cage that birthday wish becomes the twisted gun hey, it's no fun to be livin' a life that's a lie, I never needed to be number one but I still might need to start a rebellion son or some kind of fight for the feeling inside and that's why I might lose control more than once in awhile my friend but i remember to smile, cause I remember when i was a child there was this story i read when i was a kid about a man who woke up with his boots on in his bed he could not remember what he did there was mud on his boots as he opened the news to find headlines about strange crimes in the night this witness heard a shadow laugh and sprint but now the cops got the mad man's boot prints so.. believe me it scares the devil out of me too that my mind might not know things i do but i hope you don't mind if i need someone sometimes heaven knows it's true for mortals insecurities haunt our life's got no guarantees at least we have tonight to be true to what mind's can't define that's the blinding white light for this i might lose control more than once in awhile and i go with a smile and i suffer from no denial and when *your* dark towers over the human race and the last trace of storm cloud departs me, fading away i will stand in the rays of the sun when the minions of war and wall street are converging below when the fires begin i will know that maybe it's time to come home when the crystal machine at the heart of the world reunites all the boys and the girls in rainbows and sunlight and their tears become pearls why then I'll walk down the desert street stop the first person i meet and say thank you for being in the world then, in tears i'll tell her i might lose control once in awhile i try to emember to smile but what i suffer from is no denial, child

I met a girl in spain, she said the pain became overwhelming she tried to end it with a knife 15 years of her small towns´ frustrated hopes and tears crystalized in a moment on a bridge, in west Madrid, dressed in white by the lights of the city below, you know, I could see that she'd been crying *it was only then that i saw the vast beauty in / her eyes, inside there was a dream and there was pain and then i knew we were the same, so i told her: we are gonna shine *I met a man who thought his past defined / his life /* he offered me some wine. i broke the crust of cynicism. He begged me to stay with him, so I *answered* "we are gonna shine." I told him around the world we are gonna shine and take away the sadness with the light i've seen *a lot* of people. I've seen the life in their eyes we are gonna shine and then I met a man who owned a corporation the corporation owned a million lives he said, "It's funny, all i have to do is pay them and they'll do work that they don't even like. and then i met a man who had a conversation with a nation said the corporations made the masses blind it doesn't take a TV station anymore to stop a war ( for instance) or, to change the world this time so lets start a new religion of the mind without churches, or dogma, or steeples we just travel land to land and when the people stop to ask us why, we tell them: We are gonna shine around the world we are gonna shine we'll take away the sadness with the light we've seen a lot of people. We've seen the life that's in their eyes we are gonna shine it's been more than a generation since the world has even tried we are gonna shine i seen a lot of people, i've seen the light they have inside we are gonna shine
